Noah Kahan has become famous for working and collaborating with other popular musicians.
Hozier, Kacey Musgraves, and Post Malone have all been featured on deluxe versions of his tracks.
Kahan has also performed live with Gracie Abrams, Lizzy McAlpine, and Zach Bryan.
The internet has given singer-songwriter Noah Kahan many nicknames: the Folk Malone, the Jewish Ed Sheeran, and the American Hozier.
But Captain of the Folk Avengers might be the most fitting because he seems to join forces with and bring together everyone's favorite indie artists.
Here are 17 of the popular artists he's collaborated with, so far.
Julia Michaels
Kahan originally released the song "Hurt Somebody" in September 2017.
A few months later, he followed it up by recording a duet version with Michaels.
Kacey Musgraves
“She Calls Me Back (with Kacey Musgraves)” was released in October 2023.
Kahan celebrated the occasion with an Instagram post.
Part of the caption read, "Kacey Musgraves is the coolest person ever. Not exaggerating when I say that during the stick season album process we would finish a song and I'd listen back and be like 'can you imagine kacey on this??'"
Post Malone
What started as fans referring to Kahan as "the Folk Malone" turned into Kahan's first "Stick Season" collaboration: "Dial Drunk (with Post Malone)."
Joy Oladokun
In 2021, Kahan featured Oladokun on "Someone Like You" off his "I Was / I Am" album.
Two years later, Oladokun featured Kahan on "We're All Gonna Die," from her "Proof of Life" album.
Oladokun was also one of the openers for the folk singer's Stick Season Tour in 2023.
Hozier
Kahan and Hozier performed together at the Iron Blossom Music Festival in August 2023. Hozier joined Kahan for “Northern Attitude,” and Kahan joined Hozier for “Work Song.”
“Northern Attitude (with Hozier)" was officially released in November 2023 as part of the “Stick Season (Forever)” collaboration series.
Kahan wrote on Instagram, “To have one of my heroes performing this song with me is something I’ll tell my grandkids, or at least my next dog.”
Chelsea Cutler
Cutler brought Kahan on as a collaborator for a remix version of her song "Crazier Things" in 2020.
Gryffin
Dan Griffith, more widely known as Gryffin, and Kahan have worked together a few times.
They joined forces to put out reimagined versions of Bon Iver's "Heavenly Father" and Seven Lion's "Need Your Love."
Mumford & Sons
At Austin City Limits in 2023, Kahan invited rock band Mumford & Sons to perform "Call Your Mom" with him.
The following day, Kahan joined the band on stage and helped debut their new song "Maybe," which has yet to be released.
Mt. Joy
Kahan joined indie band Mt. Joy to perform their songs "Silver Lining" at Pier 17 in September 2022 and "Jenny Jenkins" at Out of the Blue Festival in December 2023.
They also performed an unreleased song titled "Emily" together at Austin City Limits in 2023.
Wesley Schultz
At a 2023 concert in Denver, Kahan brought out Schultz, the lead singer of The Lumineers, to cover Jason Isbell's "If We Were Vampires."
"The man who is about to perform it with me is one of the reasons I started writing songs, and I cannot believe I get to share the stage with him," Kahan announced at the show.
Kahan later released a recorded version of the collab as part of a Spotify Single Series.
Gracie Abrams
“Everywhere, Everything (with Gracie Abrams)" was released at the end of 2023 as part of Kahan's collaboration series.
Days before the 2024 Grammys — where they were both nominated for best new artist — Kahan and Abrams performed the duet live for the first time at Spotify’s Best New Artist Party.
Brandi Carlile
Carlile was added to the mix with a feature on a deluxe version of Kahan's track “You’re Gonna Go Far.”
In an Instagram post, Kahan called working with the singer-songwriter “the honor of all honors.”
Zach Bryan
In August 2023, Kahan joined Bryan on stage at Hinterland Music Festival to perform Bryan's closing number, "Revival."
Later that fall, Kahan was featured on Bryan's track "Sarah's Place" from his "Boys of Faith " EP.
Lizzy McAlpine
McAlpine joined Kahan on stage at an LA concert in August 2023 to perform “Call Your Mom."
A month later, they recorded and released the duet version of the song.
Sam Fender
In late January, Kahan released a deluxe version of his song "Homesick" featuring English singer-songwriter Fender.
Gregory Alan Isakov
Isakov, one of Kahan’s “personal heroes," was featured on a deluxe version of the "Stick Season" bonus track “Paul Revere.”
In the caption of a TikTok announcing the collab, Kahan wrote, “Gregory and his haunting voice and vivid songwriting was the inspiration to this song and I am honored he was willing to join me for this,”
James Bay
In 2018, Kahan was an opening act for Bay's Electric Light Tour.
This month, Bay joined Kahan on stage at one of his London concerts to play "No Complaints."
Olivia Rodrigo
Although Rodrigo and Kahan haven't formally collaborated by performing live together or releasing a duet, the artists have covered each other's songs during separate appearances at the BBC Live Lounge.
It started with Rodrigo covering "Stick Season" in October 2023. About a month later, Kahan covered Rodrigo's track "Lacy."
The artists have both hinted at wanting to collaborate further.
