Lavender Latte

We have been big fans of lavender for years and years now, as you can see from this Lavender Iced Coffee recipe we posted over a decade ago. But this year the lavender latte is making another resurgence as Starbucks highlighted it on their seasonal menu. Here’s how to make the best lavender latte at home!

Lavender Latte

Ingredients

  • Espresso
  • Milk – dairy or any milk alternative
  • Lavender syrup – store bought or homemade

And just in case you are curious, here is this lavender bubble coffee mug and saucer set. I just love it!

Lavender Latte

Directions

Brew the espresso. Add the syrup and espresso to a mug.

Steam and froth the milk so it’s hot and foamy. If your espresso machine has a frothing wand, you can use that, or you can use a milk frother or even do this with a whisk by hand on the stovetop.

Pour the hot milk and foam on top of the espresso and syrup.

Homemade Lavender Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender buds (make sure to buy food-grade)
  • 2 cups granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup water

Combine the water, sugar and lavender buds in a small pot on the stovetop. Simmer on medium heat, stirring for about 10 minutes, or until the sugar has completely dissolved. Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the buds from the syrup.
