Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady poked fun at former President Donald Trump during a White House visit on Tuesday.

Brady and his teammates met with President Joe Biden to celebrate their 2020 Super Bowl championship.

Taking to the podium on the White House's South Lawn, Brady quipped that he shares a particular problem with Biden after each of their 2020 victories.

"Not a lot of people, you know, think we could've won, and in fact, I think about 40% of the people still don't think we won," Brady said. "You understand that, Mr. President?"

After a brief silence, the crowd laughed at Brady's joke, and Biden replied "I understand that!"

Brady then joked that people started calling him "Sleepy Tom" after he forgot which down it was during a game in Chicago, referring to Trump's "Sleepy Joe" nickname for his opponent during much of the 2020 campaign. At 43, Brady is the NFL's oldest active quarterback.

In 2016, Trump described Brady as one of his "great friends," and the pair have golfed together on several occasions.

Brady faced some backlash in 2015 after a "Make America Great Again" hat was seen in his locker after a game, which Trump referenced at his 2016 rally when he touted their friendship.

While Brady has won seven Super Bowls through his NFL career, this was his first visit to the White House in quite some time.

Brady was a last minute dropout of the Patriots visit to the Trump White House in 2017, citing family matters. After Brady led the Patriots to their sixth Super Bowl in 2019, the team did not make an appearance at the White House.

That said, Brady has shown an ability to reach across the aisle when it comes to skipping out on White House visits, as he also missed the team's 2015 trip to the White House during the Obama administration, again citing family matter.

When you've won as many Super Bowls as Brady has, you've already gotten the tour.
