Apple unveiled new versions of its operating systems (OS) for iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch.
Some older Apple devices won't support the new versions of their relevant OS.
We've listed the products that won't support the upcoming OS, and what to upgrade to.
Apple announced four new operating system (OS) updates during its recent Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event, including iOS 16 for iPhone, macOS Ventura for Macs, iPadOS 16 for iPad, and WatchOS 9 for Apple Watch.
Most recently-released Apple devices will get most, if not all, of the new features found in each OS update. Older Apple devices that will support the latest OS versions may miss on some of these features.
Apple has an excellent history of supporting older devices with the latest OS updates — we've seen support last for as long as seven years — but all products need to be left behind eventually.
Here are the devices that won't get the latest OS version and which models we recommend you should upgrade to in order to keep receiving the latest Apple software.
